Crystal Maze as a Hen Party Idea
Given it's one of our top five activities, we decided to bring a mixed group up to Crystal Maze to see what it's like as a potential hen party idea or stag party idea. It took us about 35 minutes from Sligo and given it was raining outside, we were delighted it was all based indoors!.
So we were brought into an induction room and shown a short video presentation of what to expect and what it's all about. Basically, there are 15 quests and 47 challenges. We split our group into teams of 6 and we got to work straight away. The competitive side on each of us came out quite quickly and we were running around in no time. The Quests which have different themes like Jungle & Space Theme require teams to use their heads and some require a lot of teamwork. Some of the quests are physically challenging and some more mentally challenging. Not everyone has to partake in every quest, so if someone is looking to step out of the physical ones, that's no problem. There was one challenge that required us to go through a number of tunnels avoiding laser beams along the way - let's just say it took us a couple of attempts to tick it off as completed successfully.
In relation to attire - I would suggest loose clothing with flat-souled shoes (preferably runners). For those partaking in the physical challenges - it can get the heart rate going, particularly if you were like us and had to go some of the quests a couple of time over to complete it. There is no problem with a member of the group taking a breather for a while and there is a lovely cafe outside if one wants to take five and grab a coffee.
After reviewing the Crystal, we would definitely highly recommend for a hen party or a stag party. It's super fun, indoors (which can help with Irish weather) and suits practically everyone. The Hen and Stag Sligo team give it the 5-star review!.
